How do you stimulate creativity? Where can you find the inspiration? What does it take to become more resourceful?
You are resourceful and creative but have blocked your mind by failing to give your brain specific directions. If you pause to observe your thoughts, you will realize that the brain never stops to run on its own. In order for you to come up with inspiration and originality, you must give instructions and conscious directions.
The brain takes orders. When you directly instruct it to "be creative" it starts to look for answers, ideas, alternatives and opportunities. That is why it is important that you give the right message to your brain. Instead of telling yourself that you are not a creative person, change your language because your nervous system delivers whatever you feed it.
"One sure fire way to stay creative; force yourself to learn something new." - Harvey Mackay
Mind storming and brainstorming for ideas incite thinking, uses your imaginative faculty and facilitate problem solving. You list down a minimum of 20 thoughts or outline the probable solutions to the issue that needs attention. At the end of it evaluate your list of options and take appropriate actions.
The human brain tends to think about one think and continues by having other thoughts on top of the first thought. When you observe your thoughts and its patterns of composing one image after another you will notice that the first thought has changed. Knowing this will enable you to direct it to stimulate creativity, offer you choices and bring out a different result by flipping in and out and choosing what you want to think.
You must know in which state of mind allows you to function effectively. You can recreate and shift into the resourceful state by picturing in your mind a previous time when you were stimulated and creative.
You stimulate creativity by running your brain and playing mind games. Have you observed the pictures that flash inside your head? Did you notice the color, the brightness and the location? Is the picture big or small?
Pause now and take a peek. Do you notice it now? One of the ways you can stimulate your brain is to consciously interrupt and change the elements of your mental pictures. You can change the color, brightness or size. You will have fun and the exercise will change how you feel about something or someone.
Practice first in your mind any activity or skill you wish to master. In your mind, you can amend mistakes immediately and create the best possible ways to achieve your goals. You can reframe a situation any way you wish and at the same time you improve your visualization skill.
Get curious like a child does. Look at a situation or object like how a child would and ask questions and explore the answers. Become curious when something does not work. Understanding why it does not work allows you not to repeat it.
