So Alone and Lost

by meg
(pa)

I love my job. I moved to the big city after living in a small town my whole life. I moved here for a guy I have been dating for 3years. He works 60 hours a week and numbs his mind with drugs. Each day I wait for him to get home. I make dinner and create a warm and loving haven. But he doesn't care. He is only concerned with his job.

I have never been so alone and lost. We are in a lease and I am not sure I an afford to live alone. Where would I live? I am alone here and at home.

We have to take charge of our lives. Every professional and every person will have their own opinion of your life.

But at the end of it all, it is your life to live. No one can see things as clearly as you can. You have the POWER. You have the WISDOM. You have the UNDERSTANDING to make the best decision for you.

Don't give that responsibility to anyone else. It is yours to make, as complicated and disappointing as your life might seem. Look not at what you didn't get, but what you do have.

See positives. You are a fully functioning, mature, and incredibly brilliant human being. You have all the potential in you to choose what is best FOR YOU.

I've lost my parents when I was a child, and have been feeling the void for something almost all my life. I've had several messed up relationships. Always attracted people that hurt me, pushed people away.

I lost my job a few months ago, and stopped looking for one for a while, trying to figure out what I want to do for a living.

It is still not clear to me, but I want to keep trying.

Now, I'm trying to figure out who I am and find something that would define me, and something to be proud of. Find happiness and security, feel whole and accomplished instead of lost, confused, and needy. Reach a sense of peace within myself, and find happiness.

I started to slip down the road of my happiest memories and felt lost because I didn't realize how good I had it then. I feel lost only when I lament about what I don't have today that made me so happy.

It is correct in saying that if I work hard at getting what I used to have, then I will be happy when I have it. For anyone reading that, I guess it would be easy to say, that I have some work to do. That is the direction that will take me away from feeling lost.
