I really think that you should add "self injury" to this list. It is rarely talked about. But yet it is just as addictive as any drug, or alcohol, it could be worse.
How do i know this?
Well that's simple.
I have an addiction to cutting and it has been a roller coaster ride to try and stop. And even though I haven't yet, hopefully someday I will.
That would be very helpful if you could. I'm sure it would help a lot of other people to overcome self injury also.
Thank you so very much.
P.S.- You should probably look up a list of ways to break self-injury. I will share some now
--------------Breaking Self Injury ---------
1. Putting ice on where you think you need to cut.
2. snapping a rubber band on your wrist.
3. "The butterfly method" - that is where you draw a butterfly on the place you cut the most and if you cut there than you kill the butterfly. You do NOT want to kill the butterfly.
4.take your "tool"(scissors, razor, knife, glass, etc.) and run it against a towel and see the damage it does to the towel. Then maybe you won't be tempted to do it to yourself.
5. Draw.
6. Run.
7. Scream.
That's about all i can think of.
Thanks.
-Haley.
