How to develop effective roles.

Everyday, you are performing different roles in life, mainly responding to the world around you. Your function could arise out of scripts made by others and expected for you to discharge or out of the beliefs that you have about yourself.

Aspiring individuals however, function according to their purpose, potentials and values. They are aware that progress involves their willingness to work on improving their functions and become the agents of change. They differ in their thinking and approaches in handling challenges and yet are able to create a balance in their lives and relationships.

How to develop effective roles and experience growth in your life.

  • Self-awareness.

Knowing that your portrayal and attitudes are limiting your personal growth and not producing the results that you hope for is the first step toward making the change. You need to look inside and reflect.

In order to become conscious of what's working or what are not, you should find the time to write out and examine your reactions. Look at your activities and actions in every situation. Analyze them and create alternatives so that you can improve, without compromising your position, responsibility and relationships.

  • Acquiring a different way of perceiving and thinking.

You cannot rely on your memories, act upon them and consequently experience repeating patterns that don't work. You should take control of your thought process and changing your limiting beliefs. A different way of thinking leads to diversified ways of doing things and subsequently produce changed results.

How you perceive your function affect your actions. Before you can become anything else that you have been accepting in your mind, you have to imagine yourself the person you aspire of becoming. This involves imagination and acting the part.

  • Knowing your principles and values.

What you think is right and wrong, good and bad, desirable and undesirable affect your portrayal and character. You won't function at your best and do all that you can if your responsibility conflict with your moral principle or standards.

They guide your decisions and allow you to shift your priorities. Acknowledging them make it easier for you to find the right balance and to stay on top of things when your commitment is tested.
