When, where, why and how to use positive words in your daily life?

Positive words have the power to break limiting patterns of thoughts and emotions.

People who are working on their personal growth and getting their lives in order are careful with the words they use on themselves and when they speak to others.

The words you utter or write show what's inside you. You identify your character and personality with labels in the form of words. It is therefore important to represent yourself with statements that will bring out the better person in you.

When, where, why and how to use positive words in your everyday experience?

  • In the questions that you ask.

If you want to obtain accurate answers, ask questions that are precise and worded in the positive. Instead of asking yourself or others why you always fail, put your statement differently by asking how you can learn from your experience and make use of them to propel you forward.

  • When you are facing negative emotions or challenges.

The words you use will bring you more pain or provide pleasure and determine your next action steps. When you are faced with any kind of challenge or difficulty, watch what you are saying to yourself and change them.

  • Use metaphors that will bring positive emotions and different meanings.

Make it a habit to say things that would affect your outer experiences positively, lift your spirit and motivate.

Example of metaphors that could instantly give a different meaning to your experiences and change the way you feel are ...

  1. "Love is a lemon - either bitter of sweet." - Author Unknown
  2. "Life is a piece of cake." - Author Unknown
  3. "Life is a tightrope. It's one step at a time and don't look back." - Jay Cochrane

  • Expand your word knowledge and vocabulary.

It has been said that limited words bring about limited life experiences. In order to increase your word knowledge and use them to describe your thoughts, emotions and experiences, learn and use new positive words.

Reading books and magazines will add to your word power. Your limited vocabulary will show others of your ignorance.

  • When you are interacting with other people especially your spouse and children.

In either your oral or written communication, you will improve your ability to influence and get others to listen by paying attention to the right words. You can brighten or frighten someone else's life in the way you express yourself.

Positive words change your focus from the negative to the positive. They are sensitive instruments that can affect your soul and that of others. Pay attention to them and let them improve the quality of your life.
