How to cultivate a positive thinking attitude.Positive thinking is a mental attitude that is developed through self-imposed discipline by mastering certain life skills. Optimism and high self-esteem are the qualities of a positive thinking person. She still faces the day-to-day problems and disappointments but she is able to put things into its proper perspective and has a bright outlook toward the future. She is able to expect the unexpected. She finds something positive from adversities. She assumes positive intents in people's behaviors. She does not get angry or upset easily and bounce back from failures. How do you cultivate a positive thinking attitude and gain power and control over your future?
Your limiting beliefs are the chains that are holding you from seeing a clear sense of direction toward your future goals. You have to acknowledge and accept that you are in charge of your life. You must work on yourself and question your beliefs that are not empowering you to go beyond your current state. Whatever happened in your childhood and your failures are only memories. You should shorten your visits to these negative states and thoughts. Challenge them and refuse to allow fear to overpower you. Use them as learning experience so that you will not repeat those mistakes. Focus your efforts and thoughts on what you can do. Look at your potentials and the possibilities that you can create. Develop firmness and clear all doubts.
Even if something does not work out as you expect it, assume that there is a favorable outcome. Expect trouble as unavoidable. Acknowledge that everything happens for a reason. Keep thinking about your goals. Set high standards and develop the resolution that you are unstoppable. Learn from your faults and get up again immediately. See the long term perspective and put your future into a lot of consideration. When negative thoughts start to permeate, remove them and replace with assertive affirmations and powerful and direct questions. Stop giving yourself excuses and justifying. By disciplining yourself to give up old ways of rationalization and practicing right choices you will develop the right positive thinking habit at will.
You need to become aware and understand your emotions and feelings. Learn to master your emotions and quickly gain access to feelings that will help you shift to a higher energy level. Your emotions when properly directed can motivate you to try harder. Cheerfulness, hopefulness, optimism and faith can lead you to peak performance and enhances your health and well being. You will develop the confidence and courage to deal with the world. Learn to intentionally focus on uplifting thoughts and expect the best in every outcome.
Tap into your mind and remember the feelings and meanings of previous pleasant experiences. By gaining access to positive pictures you will find alternatives and able to create choices. You need to awaken your consciousness and step back each time you encounter any negativity and choose your response. Cultivating a positive thinking mindset and the right attitude is a choice. It takes discipline and practice to eliminate negative images and thoughts and accessing resourceful memories.
Who you hang around with will affect your attitude. You can't avoid toxic people all the time but you can choose to limit your associations with them. If you have to remain around them, refuse to follow their ways of seeking the least resistance and maintaining the comfort zone to influence you. Refuse to take other people's negative opinions and injustice personally. Do not allow others to push you around. Accept responsibility, stay committed and look for ways to produce a different result. |
