Some tips on planning and preparation. You can define planning and preparation as drawing or devising your plans of actions thoroughly and getting yourself ready by detailing and organizing your resources and activities to put into action. When you set your goals, most likely you have the reasons or the "why" you want to achieve them. You also know "who" has to take the actions... and that's YOU. The next thing you need to do after setting your goals is planning and preparation. This means getting the information and mindstorming the ideas on the "what and how" to do and "when" to do them. Success is 80% strategy and selecting the right course of actions among the alternatives and choices you have gathered will ensure superb performance and successful results. Some tips on how to prepare and plan for success.
Planning and preparing take up a lot of thinking. You need to think in advance how to find the resources and the people you need to help you in reaching your goals. You need to identify your short term and long term plans. Do a research, define and decide the knowledge, information and skills you need to acquire and put them in order so that you can act effectively. Put on your thinking cap and list down the activities, your time schedule, the procedures, the programs and the best approach. You must also prepare your state of mind to expect the unexpected. Challenges and difficulties are parts of the events that will show up on your way to personal growth and success.
What is it that you will stand or not stand up for? Set a mission statement stating your intentions and clarifying your values. Your values will set your standards on how you want to function. Your mission statement with clear personal values will reduce your negative emotions during the difficult times because you have made a commitment to yourself and a resolve to make things happen.
One of the advantages of planning and preparation is to enable you to eliminate activities and habits that are inconsistent with your objectives. You will feel drawn to devote your time and activities in leading yourself to become more skilled in your chosen field. By keeping a diary of your activities and seeing your accomplishments, you will notice whether sufficient thinking, planning and preparing have been done. Planning in the beginning on how well you will do, how far you will go and how much you want to accomplish start a new life process. You will inevitably attract into your life the people and the information that you need and you will see them as opportunities when they appear. |
