Personal Experiences - The Valuable Life LessonsYour personal experiences are the collections of events and happenings that you lived through, knowledge that you accumulated and emotions that you went through. Some are bits and pieces, odds and ends that you picked up along your life's journey. You summed them up to form your understanding. These personal knowledge and understanding are useful because you know what works and what doesn't. You know what to avoid. You don't have to think things through because you know the outcome prior to taking action. You are skilled at everything that you do today from the lessons learned, from repetitions and trial and error. You've been there and done that. It simplifies your life. However, not everyone is making use of the knowledge that they have accumulated both the good and the painful ones. That's why they keep repeating their mistakes and experiencing disappointments. Failing to take advantage of life experiences or being complacent and not wanting to try new things will cause boredom and stagnation. People who come up with false assumptions about their mistakes, failures and pains created their limited thinking, fears and dissatisfaction in life. How to Create New Personal ExperiencesWhen you reach a certain period in life, you tend to lose curiosity and have developed many habitual patterns of thinking and doing things. You go through the same routines, tasks and disciplines. You may have developed the fear of trying different things or taking things too much for granted. It's good to do something that you haven't done before. Do the things that you fear but have wanted to give a try. Become more daring and add fresh adventures into your life to bring more spice and vigor. New and different scenes and encounters allow you to witness and learn more of the things that you have not known. Life and people can teach you about the reality of existence and how you fit in. Let them touch you so that and you will become more open and wiser. Expand your vista. Go to places you haven't been. Blend in with people from other cultures. See, smell, taste, feel and experience what life is like out there. How long has it been since you felt excited about a new project or activity, being in love or falling out of love, or spending many hours of sweat and tears learning something new because you were inexperienced? When was the last time you had "butterflies in your tummy"? Falling out of love, failing in examinations, making a big blunder at work, and being rejected were painful personal experiences. Can you recall how it felt like? What valuable lessons did you learn? Do you remember the satisfaction afterwards when you prevail over those challenges? Nothing was wasted even when something or someone has failed you. You are now more experienced and wiser. Go on, bring some excitement back. You'll do better this time around.
