How to create better mental pictures.Knowing which mental pictures you should focus on would solve many of your life challenges. But, you may have not taken this simple route to solve your problems or to create what you wish to experience. This can happen because you don't believe that it could be that simple. The next reason is because you've allowed your mind to run on automatic based on your past conditioning. Unless you put conscious effort to override your mind representations with new positive images, it's going to show you the same visuals over and over, complete with surround sound. Of course you are not aware most of the time. You'll just be wondering why is it that you keep experiencing the same situations in your life all the time. So how do you go about creating better mental pictures?
You have to discipline yourself to start imagining what you want instead of what you don't. You have to become aware of your thoughts and inner talks. When you see the images of those that you don't want to experience, you should cancel, erase or delete and immediately replace them. You must keep "catching" yourself and repeat the process until it becomes automatic. If you think you can't do it, remember that you have actually succeeded with your old way of thinking and imagining. If you can do it with your negative visualizing, you can do the same with the opposite.
What do you see in your mind when you tell yourself that you are sick and tired? Listen to your conversations. Choose language that would send the desired message to your brain. Speak cheerfully and optimistically. How do you think is it going to affect your emotions if you start to picture happy thoughts? You can if you want to even when you don't feel like doing it initially.
You should also avoid associating too much with people who have lots of unpleasant things to talk about. Their language will affect you. Choose to surround yourself in an environment that promotes your mental programming. If it's not easy to find one, create your own. You can find inspiration from books, pictures and nature.
If you are non-believer in the power of the mind, it's a challenge for you to accept that your mental images affect the results in your life. But what if you suspend your old belief for a while? What have you got to lose if you focus on creating visual images of your desires during your waking hours? What would you gain if you were to condition yourself for about 30 days on continuous positive reprogramming? You may feel uncomfortable if you are not used to it. But if you are serious about making life changes, you must be willing to go through the uneasiness. With discipline and persistence, you will get better at it each day. |
