About Mental Pictures

Creating the right mental pictures and visualizing them daily is one of the routes to get what you want in life. Many people don't believe it although they may agree that their minds are always showing up something of the past or making up events that haven't happened yet.

Most people allow the existing mind movies to rerun and replay in their heads. They didn't deliberately create these mental images. These are the accumulations of the experiences, events and situations that they went through, caught their attention and affected them emotionally.

Humans have the inclination to easily recall bad, sad and traumatic experiences although they also have a considerable amount of wonderful events that they have gone through. And everyone has the power to choose what to see in their minds' eye. They can delete what they don't like and they can create anything that they do. This is because everyone has total dominion or control over their thoughts.

So why not use this powerful visualization tool that is already installed within you to create the mental pictures that you want.

Creating Mental Pictures - How to Visualize Something

bullet2 Put yourself in a relaxed state.

Lie down flat with your hands on your side. Make sure you are comfortable. Take in a few deep breaths, inhaling through your nose from your abdomen. Exhale through your mouth slowly. When you feel that you are relaxed, recall any beautiful memory. Allow yourself to get into that time and space again, feeling the way you did then.

bullet2 Create the mental pictures.

Now that you have the positive feeling, decide on what you want to create. Do you want to become more assertive? Do you want to have a new car? Be specific about it. What type, color and model?

bullet2 Visualize it.

Imagine that you already have the desired trait or physical thing. Don't bother about the process or the how of it. Just see the end result that you want. Put in the details and make sure you are in the picture. See it like it is really happening with the sound and colors. Add in whatever you want. Feel the joy and the ecstasy.

bullet2 Allow it.

Before you end you visualization exercise, tell yourself that you are allowing yourself to accept it.

bullet2 Practice it.

Practice makes a habit. If you do the visualization exercise daily, it will become easy. As you practice it, you can add more details. And after several sessions, it becomes a habit and you can prompt it anytime as you move through your day.

bullet2 Affirm it.

Your visualization works best if you affirm what you want. Write down your affirmation to imprint it on your mind. Then say it to yourself as many times as you want throughout the day. You can state your affirmation like this, "I choose to easily and consistently earn a monthly income or $... per year or better than that."

"All improvement in your life begins with an improvement in your mental pictures." - Brian Tracy

How to Make Visualization Works

bullet2 Imagine what you want not what you don't.

Imagine what you want instead of what you don't. When you see mental pictures that you don't want to experience, you should cancel, erase or delete and immediately replace them with what you want. You must keep "catching" yourself and repeat the process until it becomes automatic.

If you think you can't do it, remember that you have actually succeeded with your old way of thinking and imagining. If you can do it with your negative imagination, you can do the same with the opposite.

bullet2 Listen to your self talk.

What do you see in your mind when you tell yourself that you are sick and tired? You don't see the words right? Your mental screen will show mental pictures that represent those words. Listen to your self talk. Choose language that would send the desired message to your brain. Speak cheerfully and optimistically. How do you think is it going to affect your emotions if you start to picture happy thoughts?

bullet2 Choose the right environment.

You should also avoid associating too much with people who have lots of unpleasant things to talk about. Their language will affect you. Choose to surround yourself in an environment that promotes your mental programming. If it's not easy to find one, create your own. You can find inspiration from books, pictures and nature.

bullet2 Believe in it.

If you are non-believer in the power of the mind, it's a challenge for you to accept that your mental images affect the results in your life. But what if you suspend your old belief for a while? What have you got to lose if you focus on creating visual images of your desires during your waking hours? What would you gain if you were to condition yourself for about 30 days on continuous positive reprogramming?

bullet2 Impose self discipline.

Don't do it one day and skip for a few days unless you are already good at it and can call up the right pictures anytime you want. Practice doing the exercise before sleeping and upon awakening in the morning. During this time, your brain waves are slow and very receptive.

bullet2 Use subliminal images.

Some people use vision boards. They cut out pictures of what they want from magazines and paste them. They put these boards where they can see daily to remind them of their goals. Some carry affirmation cards as reminders.

Now there are subliminal images as an additional tool. A subliminal message is a statement below your conscious awareness. You can't hear or see it but your mind will recognize them when you listen or watch a recording with the messages embedded.

Here's one that you can try. It's the MindMaster. This is a words and image subliminal message tool. It's designed to assist you in changing your old mental conditioning, overwrite your false beliefs and help you reach your goals easier and faster by sending images and pictures of what you want.
