How To Rise Above A Mediocre Existence.Living a mediocre life has its pleasantness but will also lead to uninteresting and uneventful existence. Apathetic individuals prefer the average and they justify by saying that living a modest life is acceptable and a very common situation. They are nonchalant about their careers, personal growth and future. The comfort is that they do not have to work so hard or put in the disciplines. They are also the ones who are mostly dissatisfied with their work, relationships and finances and are unhappy most of the times. How to rise above a mediocre existence.
You do not have to remain the same and things will change when you do. That's the kind of thinking you should adopt. If you refuse to, then you have to bear with the thought that the rest of your life will remain insignificant. You become what you focus on internally. So to have and become more, you need to reflect, analyze and change your mindset. Changing your mind requires a shift in focus.
Dream big and have big and powerful reasons to keep you going. Think of the kind of life you want to experience, the people whom you wish to meet, and the places you want to see. Your dreams and goals will push you in the right direction and bring out your best self. Having well defined goals is the motivating factor to create that personal change. You set them, visualize the accomplishments and act as if it were impossible not to succeed. Your focused attention will help you overcome doubts and fears and build courage and faith.
You may lack the qualification or aptitude but with self-discipline, you can learn almost any skill and gather as much information as you require. Getting out of a mediocre lifestyle does not allow for laziness and an indifference attitude. You have to put in the hours and the work. You need to learn to manage your self and do the things that require you to act in spite of the challenges. A few unfavorable habitual thoughts and actions have to go. You have to bear with a little discomfort initially until you create new empowering patterns of thoughts and habits.
Your environment and the people around you have influenced you up to this moment. You need to break away and make the choice to surround yourself with inspiring and positive people. Read books, listen and watch motivational programs to unlearn, relearn and open your mind to new ideas. You may have to find lots of them before you "get it", but once you do, it will positively affect your thinking, and attitudes.
You are responsible on how your life turns out. You have to outwork your previous self and strive for excellence. You may have to go the extra mile and keep doing things and putting in the efforts even if you see little progress. You have to pay the price and dare yourself to rise above being mediocre. The more right things you do, the better are your chances of getting over your humps in life. |
