Why there is a Lack of Something

Lack is a condition of needing something that is absent or missing. It is the manifestation of negative thinking.

People who are preoccupied with thoughts of inadequacy instead of having the abundance mentality experience scarcity in some forms in their lives. You'll hear them complain about not having motivation, confidence, courage, sleep, intimacy, money, etc.

People's circumstances and experiences in life are the results of what their minds have been programmed and conditioned with. If they repeatedly form negative related mental images and keep affirming that they don't have something or that it's not enough, those things will materialize in their lives.

If you want to have abundance, you must think abundance, expect it and believe in it. You'll reap what you sow; if you plant tomato seeds, you'll get tomatoes not oranges.

Overcoming the Lack Mentality

bullet2 Focused and directed thoughts.

The lack in your life is caused by the things that you have been focusing on. In order to change your condition, feed your mind with thoughts on prosperity. Dominate your mind with passionate dreams and big reasons for wanting them.

Fill your mind with vivid pictures of what you want and the things you feel strongly about. Envision a future of success and affluence. Your mind will search the resources and show you how to get them. Catch yourself thinking or saying the "I lack ..." or "I don't have enough of ..." and replace it with "I choose to have...".

bullet2 Commit to change.

Nothing will change until you do. Your health will deteriorate further if you continue to neglect to take care of your body, mind and spirit. Your relationships will fall further apart if you insist on blaming others and not taking personal responsibility. Your finances, your confidence and your whole life will be short of growth as long as you remain what you are.

Systematically and consistently improve one behavior or an attitude and drop bad habits. Make a resolution to succeed and condition yourself to act in spite of your resistance. Refuse to allow your feelings to have control.

Change your self image and the labels that you have been putting on yourself. You are not inadequate or unskilled. You just haven't acquired enough knowledge, ideas and experience yet.

bullet2 Make time for reflection.

Put aside a little bit of time each day to get to know yourself better and to get in touch with your emotions. Only then will you begin to develop an understanding of your real wants and needs. Your fears, doubts, habits and attitudes are most likely the underlying reasons for the absence of motivation to change your condition.

During this period of reflection, look at your daily activities and how your past conditioning have affected your thinking and doing. Use this alone time to consider options, refocus and plan your strategies.

bullet2 Surround yourself with supportive people and in a healthy environment.

Your parents, teachers and upbringing have contributed a large part to your conditioning. You will act and think in the same way unless you open your mind to a different environment and surround yourself with supportive people who have and know what you don't.

Increase your level of curiosity, study and observe them. Look out for role models, connect with them and ask for help and guidance. Choose your surroundings and select the atmosphere that will positively influence you. Read autobiographies, biographies and success stories. Feed your mind by listening or watching something of value and inspiring.

All of the new conditioning will help you change. You will have a different attitude and begin to understand that the difference between lack and abundance reside mainly in your thoughts.
