Lack the Drive and Motivation

Do you lack the drive to do anything though you know that you should? Do you feel uninspired and uninitiated? Do you find yourself taking a lackadaisical approach towards a lot of things? What do you think are the reasons for your lack of motivation?

It's because there is no driving force, in the form of big and strong goals and objectives, to propel you to take action. Because you don't have a vision to succeed and you feel comfortable living in mediocrity, you just let things happen. And the reason that you don't have big goals is because you don't believe in yourself and you can't see your potentials.

How to Get Motivated, be Driven and Develop Enthusiasm

bullet2 Set powerful goals.

Jim Rohn quoted that you should set powerful goals that are inspiring, believable and that you can act on.

If you set your goals to please someone, you aren't going to feel motivated and won't do all that you can and the best you can because it's not yours. So take a look at your list. See if your goals are specific, measurable, attainable, and realistic and that you have set a deadline.

bullet2 See it in your mind.

Stephen R. Covey stated that all things are created twice. You have to first see it in your mind in order for you to make things materialize on the outside.

You are already using your imagination without you realizing it. You lack the drive, are unmotivatied and do not make things happen because you are creating pictures that don't inspire you to take action. All you need to do is change those pictures. Create the ones that you want to see happening.

bullet2 Self evaluation.

Are you aware of your strengths and weaknesses? Do you know what you are lacking in terms of knowledge and skills? Do you want to remain where you are a few years from now, with the same job, lifestyle and problems? Start asking yourself some serious questions to change your awareness and focus. Find something that you love to do and do it. When you engage yourself in something that you are passionate about, you can change your state of mind.

bullet2 Connect with motivated people.

Don't go looking for the people who lack the drive to change and grow. Connect instead with those who can show you how to bring out your best and are serious about personal growth and success. Hang around these kinds of people to get motivation and inspiration and to gather lots of ideas. One idea may change your perception and make a huge difference to your life.

bullet2 Impose self discipline.

To develop any habit, you must keep doing them until it becomes automatic. Impose self discipline. Break your pattern of behavior, like being lazy and procrastinating, by taking action even when you don't feel like it. Ensure that you take consistent and constructive action. The more you act the better are your outcomes or results and these will drive you to want to do more so that you can have more.

bullet2 Start observing and noticing.

If you just lack the drive because you have lost faith in yourself, take some time to reflect and contemplate. Sit quietly and think through your life, your challenges, your past achievements and where you what to go from here. Pep yourself and affirm to yourself that you can give things another go and this time you'll succeed. Then set new goals, visualize the end result, get the information, skills and knowledge that you require and take continuous action.
