Being at a job after a while can cause complacency and boredom. It is important that you feel passionate about your work otherwise your motivation will decline.
Your approach towards your occupation will determine how far you will move ahead. To stay alert and proactive while you are still at it, you must create an atmosphere where you enjoy working.
Your attitude determines whether you find your work fun and interesting or dull and a bore. Changing your employer or occupation will only bring temporary relief unless you change the way you think and do things.
But, if you insist in looking for a new job, you can get some help on resume writing tips and examples. Otherwise, here's how to take pleasure from your job while you are still at it.
You can do something more than is expected from you. Think of your role as a teacher or a mentor. With that in mind, you can stretch yourself at work by helping and guiding others to improve their productivity. Encourage others to develop their talents and contribute to giving your time and effort to improve the quality of their work. You will gain trust and cooperation from your enlarged role. Remind yourself that the more you give the more you will get and you improve your own career.
You spend most of your waking hours at your workplace, socializing with the people within the organization. You could use this opportunity to sharpen your communication and relationship skills. Your profession offers you the chance to test your problem solving and conflict management skills. In fact your vocation challenges your ability to manage time and your emotions. You can acquire the skills elsewhere but your employment offers a good place.
There is always something else to learn and to expose yourself to. The key is not to get stuck with your routines. Meet someone or do something different. Find out what has not worked. Unlearn what you are doing habitually. Try what you have not tried and find different ways to produce a greater positive impact.
Your work will become less boring if you start to listen to the conversations going around you. Listen to people making mind reading statements. Challenge yourself to predict a person's internal experiences from the language that he uses. Observe what and how others are behaving and reacting.
When you listen and observe more, you will learn more about people's behavior and reactions and you will in turn learn more about your own thinking styles. Observe how someone does something well and model how he does it and do what he does. It is your shortcut to learn new ways of doing things.
Stop saying that you hate your work. You chose it and if you dislike, only you can make the change. But while you are still at it, work on the things that you can do something about instead of hating it. You can work on yourself and on your personal growth. You can do that by becoming an above average employee and an individual. Keep reminding yourself that you are in the employment to learn, gain experience and as a stepping stone.
