"Our intention creates our reality." - Wayne DyerIntention is more than just having a plan or an idea on what you set out to do. Some people say things or think of doing something but never taking any action. It is more of a wishful thinking, hoping or day dreaming. When you set out a real or strong personal declaration, it carries power. You are giving instruction to your brain and telling your subconscious the object that you are setting out to achieve or accomplish. Once you set out a real intention, you focus your mind power and attract the resources to your aid. It comes back to how you word your statement. Telling yourself that you plan to do something or you will do something carries different messages to your brain. When you say you will, you are affirming to yourself that you are going to take action. Although having one is better than nothing at all, having a firm resolve makes the difference on how fast and how much effort you will put in. Regardless of whether you have good or bad intentions, once you commit yourself, you will act upon your desires. Certain behaviors that were created once remain with you even though they no longer benefit. This is one of the reasons why people maintain erroneous behaviors or maintain unhealthy habits. Unconsciously, they have positive intents lurking behind. How to express your intention.
Say "I will" instead of "I want". Using the right words confirms and creates your beliefs. What you say to yourself will determine your actions. State it clearly and specifically so that your mind will understand what you are asking for or desiring to achieve.
Look for the reason to do what you set out. It is the best way to produce the results that you are aiming to achieve. It creates the behaviors, attitudes and motivation to push you forward.
Give meanings to your purpose by associating it with pictures, sounds and sensations. When things mean something to you, it affects your emotions and your frame of mind and encourages you to take action.
For your purpose to materialize and motivate, it should reflect on your personal values. When your values are not aligned with your purpose, it will reflect in your unwillingness to make changes in your behaviors and attitudes. |
Quote"Setting intent is a way of connecting a goal in the future with motivation in the present. Intent directs energy and attention toward the future. It is a filter for experience causing the subconscious to work towards the goal." - Author Unknown
