"Nature knows no pause in progress and development, and attaches her curse on all inaction." - Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Action is one of the keys to personal growth and progress. Inaction then, is a sure way to live an uneventful life.

If you are not experiencing the success you wish to have, take a look at what you are doing and especially at what you are not doing.

Why are you putting off doing the things that you should? Doubts, fears, worry and indifference are the most probable causes. But if you look deeper, you may find that the main reason for your idleness is not because you are lazy. You actually don't have a strong enough goals. You don't have a clear vision of your future. You can't see what you want to have, become and do.

If you make a research of successful individuals, you will notice that they are action oriented. They didn't stand still and remain motionless even when challenges showed up.

Successful individuals are aware that inactivity is a great enemy. They push themselves and develop the disciplines to take consistent action. They will pause to contemplate and evaluate their progress and once they get the feedbacks, they take a different action or repeat the same and move on until they reach their goals.

Here are 3 tips you can apply to overcome it.

  • Determine your major goal.

Having a passionate goal and being able to see it materializing in your mind is one of the best ways to overcome procrastination. When you know what you want and you want it badly, nothing and no one can stop you.

Think about something that you have achieved right now that was once a goal. What did you do then to acquire it? Whatever you may have done, one thing is definite, you took action.

  • Get emotionally fit.

Your emotions can help or destroy you. They can determine whether you act or remain passive. You need to keep yourself emotionally fit and learn to manage your feelings like doubts, fears and worry. What you can do is to act in spite of your uncertainties.

  • Imagine and visualize.

Create a picture of the end result that you wish to experience. Once you have done that, visualize it regularly. Keep your focus on your goals.

If you think you can't do that, cut out and paste pictures from magazines and create a dream board. Imprint them in your mind and soon you will be able to see them inside your head.

Or try the Silva Method and use the techniques to improve your visualization skill.
