He has to become aware that increasing his efficiency starts with his thinking. He has to look at work as something that gives him joy and satisfaction instead of drudgery. Instill in him the desire to learn and expand his career.
This is one of the ways to overcome procrastination and push a person to take action. Project the image of the achievement of the desired goal. Involve his emotions and allow him to see what's in it for him when he accomplishes his task. He has to know that the knowledge and skill that he acquires is more for him and not for the organization.
When a person has no specific plans or strategies to get things done, he will feel overwhelmed. Planning and setting priorities allow for proper management of time. He must know the action steps that are required and the importance so that there is no inner conflict.
Most people keep doing their habits and going through the same routines to accomplish a task. This attitude can hinder progress. In order to attain more, encourage him to change and do things differently. Daring to try new things and overcoming obstacles help build self-confidence. There are many ways to reach a goal and it involves taking action, flexibility and persistence.
A person who doesn't get things done or produces unsatisfactory outcomes might lack knowledge, interest or skill. Your ability to identify these will help you find a solution and make the appropriate decisions in improving work performance. You can choose to provide the necessary trainings or assign him to another position.
Almost everyone wants to feel appreciated and a sense of belonging. Offering praise and compliments inspires a person to do more and gives his maximum attention to his work. The attention you give him makes his feel respected. Change has to start with you. Remember that you have to become a better person first before you can guide others. You can't control people but you can become a role model and a person who is admired and respected. People listen to you when they like you and you can get better things done in less time. |
