Ignorance is one of the reasons why people make silly mistakes, overlooked opportunities, are easily deceived or remain "in the dark". Phrases like, "I'm unaware", I didn't know", or "I should have known," and "It doesn't matter" are some of the indications showing a lack of understanding and knowledge and to a certain extent, an unconcerned or uncaring attitude.
Everyone lacks knowledge on certain issues outside their field, their interests or their world. Some don't care and think it's all right to ignore situations, things and current events that don't affect them personally.
They don't realize how important it is to learn of new breakthroughs, tools and techniques that can solve problems. They fail to understand how useful it is to notice what's going on around them, in the world and the challenges that other people are facing. They aren't aware that all events will affect them in some way in the future.
Not knowing what you should know will lead to neglect and disregard. Disregarding issues and people will bring about loss, disappointments and regrets.
"The world is not a problem; the problem is your unawareness" - Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh
