How to Change Your Life Around and Change for the Better
Which area of your life do you want to change? Are you planning of making a career change? Are you thinking of overcoming bad habits and dealing with your weight, financial or relationship problems? Have you been told that you need to make a behavior change?
Whatever it is, there are only a few basic things that you must be willing to do. When you take even a small action each day, you will move forward. Be willing to get yourself out of your comfort zone and the path of least resistance. You reshape yourself, your relationships and your career by making corrective actions.
If you keep repeating the way you have been doing things, you will get the same results. If what you have been doing is not helping you grow and make life improvement, change it. You must do something different such as dropping the old and embracing the new.
How to Change Your Life No. 1 - Changing Your Attitude
Your attitude is the way you see or perceive things, people and situations. It influences your decisions and actions and the outcome. Your core beliefs affect your self esteem and determine your attitude. You cannot move ahead if you are pessimistic and are always feeling sorry for yourself.
To make life changes, don't find faults in others and only notice the negative side of things. Examine your attitude, mindset and core beliefs instead. Change your limiting beliefs by questioning their effectiveness and going against what you have been doing and perceiving.
Changing one negative attitude to the positive will affect the other areas of your life. If you stop being a naysayer for example, you will have more friends, gain better influence and you will feel less stressful. If you start to view things and people positively, you will see possibilities. You will begin to view challenges and setbacks as an opportunity to test your mettle.
How to Change Your Life No. 2 - Changing Habits
Bad habits that may be blocking you from making life changes include procrastination, compulsive shopping and overeating. Good habits that can change your life include doing regular exercise, eating healthy foods, quitting smoking or other addictions and stop drinking alcohol.
Just like your attitude, discarding one bad habit and replacing it with a good habit will result in a personal change. When you start making exercise as a habit instead of watching television, your health will improve. You will lose weight and have a better outlook about yourself, life and people. When you begin to overcome laziness and procrastination, you will become more productive and effective and your finances will improve.
Think through and look at the habits that are not helping you advance in life. Eliminate them one by one and replace each with better habits. You will see improvement and growth if you persist.
How to Change Your Life No. 3 - Stop Thinking Negative
How do you know what you've been thinking? Notice your emotions. Feeling down, upset or fearful is the result of having corresponding mental images which are accompanied by negative self talk. And if you have developed a negative pattern of thinking, you will find it difficult to feel good and happy.
What you must do is to interrupt the pattern of thoughts. You will have to pay attention to your feelings. When you begin to feel a negative emotion surfacing, stop it and ask yourself questions about that feeling. Decide what you would rather feel.
Let's just say that someone triggered you to feel angry. Instead of allowing the anger to progress to rage, stop it. Ask yourself if it is actually the person or something else bottled up inside you that is the cause of your anger. And then tell yourself that rather than feeling angry, you choose to feel compassion toward the person.
Besides monitoring and managing your emotions, challenge your negative self talk and self criticisms. Notice what you are saying to yourself and replace the negativity with positive affirmations. Whenever you hear yourself saying something negative, replace them with positive statements such as "I choose to like myself," "I choose to feel confident" or "I choose to think positive."
How to Change Your Life No. 4 - Set Big Goals
Set big goals beyond what you have done and achieve so far. Think positive. Write all the reasons why you want to achieve each goal. Let the goals consume you and the reasons motivate you. Brainstorm for ideas. Your mind will help you come up with the strategies and methods to reach them. It will point you to the people and situation that will assist you. But you must be aware and alert.
How to Change Your Life No. 5 - Take Action
Do all you can and the best you can to achieve each of your goals. Persist even if you don't see immediate result. If you monitor and measure your daily, weekly and monthly progress, you will notice that you are moving forward as long as you are doing something positive. Remind yourself that there is more than one way to accomplish something. Just continue to take consistent action and use whatever feedback to correct your course or proceed.
How to Change Your Life No. 6 - Make Better Use of Your Brain and Mind
Your brain and subconscious mind are powerful tools if you use them right. Whatever you do, think or feel right now are the result of what you have put into your brain. You must give your brain new instructions to make it work to your benefits.
There are many ways to do it. One of them is to start using your imagination creatively by deliberately imagining what you want instead of what you don't. Remember that your brain can't tell the difference if something is real or imagined. Visualize the images each day so that your brain will make new connections.
Learn to relax your mind by doing deep breathing exercise or other relaxation techniques daily. Relaxation exercises help your mind relax, release your stress and tension and allow you to think better and help your manage your emotions. Feed it with positive messages in the form of mental pictures and positive words.
If you need tools to help with visualization, use the MindMovies software. It is a vision board type of software which you can copy and paste pictures, affirmations and music and watch on your computer screen.

The Visualization Skills Hypnosis is another option. This hypnosis program will let you go through a progressive relaxation exercise, guide you to visualize and offer suggestions to improve your visualization skills.

Each day, ask yourself what it is that you are grateful about in your life right now. Think hard and you will come up with more than 3 reasons to feel grateful.
