Where Are You Heading In Life

Have you had the feeling that you are lost and don't know where you are heading in life? You've gathered some knowledge, learned a little bit of skills, tried several things and then gave up. You just don't seem to gain anything fulfilling.

If you continue doing this, it's very likely that you are going to get the same results, and that is nowhere. The time will come when you realize that age has catches up with you and you haven't made any outstanding progress that you can feel proud of.

The only way to change your situation is to change yourself, your approach and your direction or destination. You must know where you are right now and where exactly you want to end up.

Tips for Heading Towards A New Direction

Identify Your Passion and Set Your Goals

Identify your passion or your consuming desire. When you know what it is that are passionate about, you are apt to see opportunities, grab them and push aside those that waste your time and efforts.

Knowing exactly what you want to have, become and do is a prerequisite to succeeding. Without it, you will drift along and capture anything that comes your way. You will become a follower and move along wherever someone or something takes you. It takes more than just thinking about it. You must write them down and imprint your goals your mind and your heart.

Take Action

Knowledge is useful but won't assist you much if you don't know what to do with it. You may have learned to read sign language or several foreign languages but if you don't use them to empower yourself or others, you'll forget and lose them. It's such a waste not to act upon what you know.

You might have read many self help books but without action, you gain nothing but more information. Taking positive actions produce positive results. The more you act, the better are your chances of heading in the right way.

Focus on One Goal

Children find it difficult to stick to doing something. They get distracted easily when they see something more interesting. As an adult, you can't continue to act like a child and jump from one thing to another.

Focus your mind when you begin something. Be flexible and change the strategy if you don't get the result that you expected. Persist until you get the desired result. Giving up too soon won't provide sufficient evidence that a thing does not work or that you can't succeed.

Challenge Limiting Beliefs and Fears

People do not take risks because they are afraid. There are many kinds of fears that you have been conditioned to accept and you have to learn to overcome them. You must face the fact that the limiting beliefs and fears are based on past experiences or someone's opinions.

If you haven't tried something, take the chance and try it. What's the worst that can happen? Think of the benefits you'll gain if you challenge yourself and succeed. Even if you don't there are lessons that you would have learned that will become useful.

Measure Progress

Set mini goals and plan your strategies. Pause and measure your progress and personal growth at intervals to see if you are heading in the right direction or have diverted. Unless you can see what you have attained as you moved along, you would continue to feel like you are getting nowhere.

Maintain a Positive Mindset

An optimistic outlook will do you a lot of good especially in the present world with so many tragedies and bad news. With a positive mindset, it is easier for you to head in a different direction if you have taken the wrong route. Instead of feeling overwhelmed and confused, accept whatever that doesn't work out as something that you just have to learn along the way to reach your destiny.

Practice Visualization

Create a clear mental movie of what you want to have, experience and become. Visualize these images daily. Make the visualization so real that you feel that it is already happening and you are living it. As you lie down in to sleep, bring up these images and when you wake up, do the same. It doesn't take much work but discipline

The Mind Movies is an effective visualization tool. It is especially helpful if you find it difficult to visualize. With the tool, you can insert images, affirmations and music and watch it on your computer any time you wish to remind you of your goals and dreams. It is helpful in imprinting your mind of your goals

Use Positive Affirmations

Your self talk is continuously telling you what you cannot do, shouldn't do and why. Replace all these with positive affirmations. Write down on a piece of paper what you choose to become or feel and that you are allowing yourself to act and feel this way from now on. Say it to yourself daily and every time you catch your negative self talks.

Impose Self Discipline

After going through mediocrity until now, you have developed many habits that aren't helpful and useful to your life. So you must impose self discipline to get rid of bad habits and form new ones. This means you must do what you should do to bring about personal growth, progress and change even when you don't feel like doing them.
