Are You Giving Up Already

Do you feel like giving up your dreams? If you feel stuck and wish to surrender and admit defeat, pause for a moment and reconsider. To achieve anything worth having will take a lot of time and efforts.

Thomas Edison, Colonel Saunders and so many other pioneers persevered. They went on and kept trying hundreds and thousands of times before they finally achieved their goals.

Before you throw in the towel and quit, ask yourself some important questions. What are you going to do next? Are you planning to set another goal and forget about this one? But if you do that, what do you think are your chances of succeeding since you've already given up on your present goal before you reach it?

Did it occur to you that if you quit now and abandon this goal, there is a possibility that you may concede defeat on the next one too? You will then develop pessimism and lose your confidence and esteem.

"We must not be soft with ourselves no matter what our goals and positions. As long as we live we must try, for we truly live only when we try." - Author Unknown

What to Do Before Giving Up

Reflect

What was the goal that you were aiming for? Look back when you just got started and look at where you are now. Between then and now, what have you achieved? If you had done your best and all that you can, you would have already gained something worthwhile. Experience is one of them. You've learned what works and what doesn't. How can you put these experiences to good use?

Find out What Other People Did

People who have succeeded practice specific habits. Have you done what they did? Study them and practice those habits until you get the same results.

Analyze

Do some serious thinking and analyze thoroughly before giving up. Become aware of what is standing in your way. For all you know, you might have allowed yourself to major in minor things.

Ask

Learn to ask from others as well as from your inner self. Listen attentively to get the answers that you are seeking.

Keep a Journal

Write down your thoughts, activities, emotions and experiences. Make use of your writings to examine your life. Question them, learn from the mistakes and repeat your success.

Visualize the End Result

Imagine where you want to be and what you wish to become. Make use of your creative imagination to design your future. Repeat the visualization exercise to imprint your goal on your mind. If you have trouble visualizing, use the Mind Movies which is a subliminal tool.

Think Positive and Develop Great Expectations

Look at the possibilities. Affirm to yourself that whatever it is that is against you serves as a challenge for you to stay strong. Your doubts and fears could arise from your lack of knowledge and skill. Get hold of that so that you can refocus and not abandon your dreams.

Work Harder and Smarter

Work harder by taking more actions and doing things that will bring you closer to your goals. Refuse to surrender until you have done all that you can.

Focused Attention

Keep your mind on your goal. See it and feel it. Gain control of your thoughts because they produce the actions that you are going to take.

Believe in Yourself

This is one of the most important components to achieve anything in life. If you think you can do it, you can and you will. If you don't believe in yourself ask yourself why? What is it about you and within you that is the stumbling block? So before giving up, think it over.
