Tips on Gaining Self Confidence

Identify Your Weakness

Become aware of your beliefs by writing down the things that you are scared of doing. Some examples are things such as having no confidence at work, lack of confidence with women, relationships, driving or public speaking.

Question Your Beliefs

Do you believe that you are shy, reserved and an introvert? What have you been telling yourself? What made you believe you have those traits? Who gave you that label? Do you always act in a certain way only in the presence of a crowd or strangers but behave differently among close friends?

Most of us acquired our beliefs and fears during our childhood through adolescence. Maybe when you were growing up, someone who had a great influence on you kept telling you negative things. You then believed and affirmed that it is true.

One of the best tools to release emotional baggage and limiting beliefs is EFT tapping. In emotional freedom technique, you use your fingers to tap on certain meridian points. The tapping releases the emotional attachment to your fear and allows positive energy to circulate.

Recall Successful Experiences

Most of us can do something well without reservations. Identify that strength or ability and find out how you acquired the skill and confidence.

Recall a time when you felt confident and certain about something? When was that? How did it happen? Recreate the experience in your mind. Remember that if you can do something well even once, you can do it again and you can use that knowledge to improve your weakness.

Build a New Self Image

Create a new mental picture of the person you want to become. See it in your mind's eyes how you will behave and respond. Make the mental pictures real. You can create any mental images that you want. Practice visualizing this new image daily. Whatever you visualize consistently and believe will materialize.

Besides improving your body and self image, pay attention to your physical appearance and personal hygiene. Your appearance affects your self esteem and confidence.

Act as If You are Confident

During the process, "act as if" you are confident. When you "act as if" you are bold, you will act, feel and behave accordingly. It does not matter whether this is true because your mind will believe it and will start giving positive messages. When you feel confident, your self esteem will also rise.

Replace Self Criticism with Positive Affirmations

Your inner critics are going to challenge you and tell you not to fool yourself. Catch your self-talk, interrupt and replace them with positive affirmations. Tell yourself that you were unsure and doubtful of yourself before but not anymore. Choose positive affirmations such as "I choose to feel confident" and "I choose to allow myself to become calm, poised and composed."

Try Something New or Different

Expose yourself to something new and challenging. You will gain new and expanded experience. You may need to expose yourself to many new, challenging and fearful things to gain self confidence. Getting results will generate new beliefs and overwrite your old mental conditioning.

You think that something cannot be done because you have not tried. Or maybe you have not tried enough. You may not have done all that you can. You must persist at what you are doing to its completion. With each completion you will gain the courage to do more.

Acquire Knowledge

Gaining self confidence on the job for example may require that you acquire more knowledge to improve your skill. If you lack confidence with women, learning how to communicate better and how to understand women such as knowing their needs and motivation would really help boost your confidence.

Emulate Confident People

One of the tips on gaining self confidence is to emulate. Watch, observe and learn how people act and talk confidently. Look at the way they carry themselves, how they communicate and the actions that they take.

Use Self Confidence Hypnosis
