Failure and DefeatFailure and defeat; these are the state of mind you'll most likely experience when you keep getting repeated failures. Your motivation and enthusiasm are gone. If you are a fighter and filled with determination, you'll probably get back up again after you get over the feeling of disappointment. You are aware that the more you try and persist, the better are your chances of succeeding the next time around. But there are people who quit and stop trying because of their lack of success. Instead of learning from their mistakes and try again or use a different approach, they give up and declare themselves as failures. How to Turn Failure and Defeat AroundHaving specific and well defined goals and will push you to persist regardless of the outcome of your attempts. You may have failed but you would have also learned that a certain action does not produce a specific result. Look at failing as an opportunity to change your views, methods and strategies. View your experiences as an indication that you have to acquire more knowledge and skills. Right thinking and attitude will push you to continue in spite of your failure and defeat. Take time to reflect so that you are able to open up your mind and see why your attempts were unsuccessful. Making mistakes will force you to re-focus and use your mental faculty to find answers and solve your problems. Figure out ways how you could change your methods and strategies. Doing things differently will produce different results. If you have been frustrated with your lack of progress, look out for someone who has achieved what you are aiming for. Take time to study and learn from the people whom you admire and have produced the results. You can also find the information you need from self-help books, audio programs and personal growth coaches. There are books and tapes on almost every subject that you can think of. Unlearn what you already know since the information that you have known has not helped you. Open up your mind for new ideas and insights. Have you done all that you could and done your best? Back up, put in more efforts and take more right actions. Refuse to become discouraged by your lack of progress. The next action that you take may provide you the success that you were expecting. You must do many things and put in lots of efforts every day to get what you need. Focus on success, plan ahead, make better choices and do the things that will lead you to success. Your commitment to take daily and consistent action will improve your performance and produce extraordinary results. Use your imagination to assist you in getting what you want. Pictures of failure and defeat will lead to losing images. Tune off your negative self talks and mental pictures and replace them iwth positive affirmations and images. Add in the emotions; see, hear and feel what you want to experience. By visualizing your success, you are directing your mind to provide you with the how.
