"Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

When you lose your enthusiasm, the feeling of excitement and interest to pursue your goal fades away. It shows in your attitude and your lack of energy to carry on. The drive is gone and you no longer see any hope to make things happen.

This feeling happens when you keep hitting a wall or sees little or no progress from your attempts. Doing something that did not really interest you in the first place could have also contributed to it.

In order for you to get back on track, you need to instill the passion into your life again.

How to bring back the enthusiasm.

  • Re-discover your ambition and interest.

Relax. Take a break to regain your focus. Spend some quiet hours reflecting on what you really want and what it is that gets you excited. Discover what really interests you and fills your attention.

Really think about your future. Think about the things that matter to you. Find out what you do well and write down what is working in your life.

  • Learn to cope.

You need courage to achieve happiness and success. In this world you are living in, you are bound to come face to face with challenges and objections. Your ability to endure is important.

Welcome your challenges, confront them and re-focus. Think back of the things that you have achieved and repeat those successful experiences. Push yourself through the tough times.

  • Stick around people who demonstrate zest in life.

The people you are with affect your thoughts. Hang around with people who provide positive influence. Get involved with people who know what you don't know. Relate with them and get inspired.

  • Plan new action steps and start to make things happen.

If the thing you did has not produced the result you wanted, try something else. Plan out a new strategy, look forward at the possibilities and impose self-discipline to see your plans through.

Change your routines and activities. Create curiosity and try to do things another way. Take one action a day toward your goal, stick to it until you see the result and acknowledge your effort. You will soon pick up the momentum and rekindle your enthusiasm.

  • Make new decisions.

You can switch your thoughts and actions any moment you choose. You can have control over your emotions. You can see a situation any way you choose. You can decide to make better choices. It's all up to you.
