Culture and Nutrition

by RISPER KERUBO
(KISII)

One cause of poor nutrition.

Some cultural practices have contributed a lot to poor nutrition particularly in African countries especially Kenya. For instance, men have to be made special foods as compared to children and women. He can’t eat vegetables alone so meat or eggs must be there for them even if the rest sleep angry or eat kales the whole year.

A belief that if children eat eggs, they may not be able to talk or their tongues will be heavy.
Other cultures do not allow people to eat pork and fish and maybe one may be allergic to mutton or been thus leaving such people with no option.

Actually each community has got its designed type of food which some aren’t balanced.
