What's Your ContributionEveryone has a contribution to make in society. It's not only about giving money, though it is helpful and is appreciated. The saying, "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime", explains what it means to offer something of great value. Offering the time to teach, guide and helping others progress is one of the major roles of parents, managers, teachers and leaders. Never underestimate your role. You have something that is useful to others. You are a valuable employee, daughter, son, grandchild, husband, wife or friend to somebody. Your presence may light up someone's lonely life. Your words of encouragement could motivate someone to start over. Showing others how to do something that you are skilled at could make a big difference and turn their lives around. Your level of success with your subordinates and children depend a lot on the amount of time and effort you put in to help them grow. Your relationships with your loved ones can fall apart when you neglect to communicate and interact. Your career or business will decline if you don't pay attention and give something more. How much you receive depends on how much you give. How you give is up to you. If you are not moving closer to what you want, check on how much contribution that you have made. Make it a point every day to chip in a little bit of something that can add value to those around you. It doesn't matter if the thing that you are offering is small. It might seem trifle to you but not to the person who is receiving it. Your Response or CommentWhat do you think? Go back to personal growth articles page.
