Consequences and Effects of Action and Inaction

According to Jim Rohn consequences are seldom instant. They accumulate until the inevitable day of reckoning finally arrives and the price must be paid for our poor choices.

Stephen R. Covey stated that we are free to choose our actions but we are not free to choose the repercussions of our actions. And according to one of Newton's law, for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.

Although you can't ascertain the actual end result, you can actually foresee the future outcomes of your own decisions and actions. There are many things that are within your control. There are certain things that you don't have control but at the same time you have a vast amount of things that you can do and take charge to avoid problems.

Consider for a moment how the result would turn out if you were careless with your language and have a lackadaisical attitude toward anything worth putting attention to. Having the correct mentality and choosing the right actions provide multiple rewarding results.

It's quite normal to feel doubtful about your choices and decisions. It is important though, not to allow your emotions and bad judgments to rule and lead you to the wrong decisions. If you have the right attitude and sufficient knowledge and skills, you are more aptly to make better decisions and expect better end results.

If you do all you can and do your best, you attract positive reaction. Even if doing your best doesn't produce the expected impact, you would have benefited a great deal from the process because constructive actions produce positive results.

"On their own, our daily acts do not seem that important. A minor oversight, a poor decision, or a wasted hour generally doesn't result in an instant and measurable impact. More often than not, we escape from any immediate consequences of our deeds." - Jim Rohn
