"Compassion is grace and the lack of it a disgrace." - The Prophet MuhammadCompassion is one of the attributes that you should possess on your quest for personal growth and success. Building a life of substance includes your relationships with people. How can you truly enjoy a higher level of success if you are not sensitive to the needs of others and treat them with respect? Your lack of empathy toward the suffering of others could have been driven by your personal values, beliefs and character. It reflects who you really are. Probably you are too engrossed in your pursuit that you forgo your feelings of sympathy and concern. How to become more compassionate.
What if you were in his shoes? What if you were the one who is going through the insurmountable obstacles and sufferings? Some people have to go through rough times. They make mistakes, maybe even serious ones. Showing that you care does not always have to do with money. Kind acts and words would help in making the other person feel empathized. They may need your assistance or even just an understanding to make things a little better.
Your personal values will guide you to make decisions and take the necessary actions. By adding love and warmth, you put yourself in touch with the feelings side in your life. If you want to succeed and at the same time have a peace of mind, give acts of love like inspiration, aspiration, dedication and hope. The more you give, the more you will grow.
You need to remember that you invariably attract into your life the people and situations in harmony with your thoughts. If your mind is filled with selfish thoughts, you will attract more of its kind. Find a few moments of calm each day and think through the things that you should or shouldn't do. Look at your contribution toward mankind and the difference that you have made. Fill your thoughts and acts with kind deeds and they will return to you. "Your greatness is measured by your kindness; your education and intellect by your modesty; your ignorance is betrayed by your suspicions and prejudices, and your real caliber is measured by the consideration and tolerance you have for others." - William J.H. Boetcker
