If you use more of your common sense, decision making becomes easier. Your life gets less complicated and you'll enjoy more living.
Many people don't use their own sound practical judgments because they don't believe in themselves or are swayed by the various opinions of the majority of people out there.
You may want to change your career or make extra money for example. The obvious sensible decision you should make is to write down exactly how much and how far is your goal. The next is to plan out your strategies. Then take the necessary action until you reach your goal.
A mistake that you should try to avoid is asking other people who have not made it. These people will tell you why it's not possible to do certain things at this particular period of time. Or you may read too much from various sources that you get confused and get overloaded with information. So you end up doing nothing.
It's advisable to gather knowledge and to learn from people who have made it. In everything you do, be it on personal safety to feeding your pet, there is a point when you just have to apply your reasoning. You don't need someone to tell you every little thing.
"One pound of learning requires ten pounds of common sense to apply it." - Persian Proverb
Robert J. Sternberg, IBM Professor of Psychology and Education and Professor of Management at Yale University said that you can increase your level of sound practical judgments. You do it by sharing information and ideas with others.
It makes sense because sharing bad and good experiences and knowledge provide great insights to the giver and receiver. You can learn from each other and it will contribute to your personal growth.
But the best resource still comes from your personal experiences. They serve as lessons. If you have made many attempts and did some mistakes, you would have gained wisdom and know which path to follow. It's foolish of you to repeat something that doesn't work.
Many people lack common sense and don't use their reasoning because they are lazy to weigh the consequences, even when they have enough facts. Rational thinking requires action. The mind has to use the information gathered or learned to make judgment. That's a lot of work for some people.
Becoming more aware, paying attention and observing would help you see things in a different perspective. These activities will help you understand. You'll develop the ability to trust your intuition, solve problems and guide you to take action.
There is also a shortcut and a faster way to stimulate your creativity, get a gush of fresh ideas, new thoughts, sparkling imagination, answers and solutions. You can deliberately and effortlessly alter your brainwaves and influence your moods. And the tool you can use is Binaural Beats.
