What Makes You Feel AliveEveryone who is alive and breathing right now should feel blessed that he has another day to make good use of it. But how many are really living life to the fullest; feeling energetic and dynamic compared to those who are drained, stuck and in a rut? People are getting involved with drugs, booze, failed relationships, are overweighed and move about lifeless. It looks like so many are leading an unfulfilling life. If you happen to feel empty inside and uninspired, who do you think is responsible? Who are you waiting for to ignite your passion and cheer you up? You should know the answer, unless of course you refuse to admit it. Or you want to remain adamant and feel that someone else is responsible for your happiness and joy. It's up to you. It's your life so it's your call. But if choose to feel really alive and kicking, here are several suggestions. How to Feel More Alive and VibrantBegin the first hour of your day with a breath of fresh air out in the open. Every new day is a new beginning, a fresh start. Open your eyes, ears, heart and mind. Become aware of your surroundings. Listen to your voice within. It's whispering. Be still and you will hear. When you start to do something different or new, your learning curve begins again. You will find yourself busy and if it interests you deeply, you'll find the energy and vigor to do and become more. Don't become a couch potato. Exercise, dance or go for a motorcycle ride. Do anything physical that engages your body. Let the adrenaline rush through your system. Meet up and chat with friends and do fun things together. Take your family for a picnic. Help those in need and do voluntary work. Read a lot. Listen and observe. Travel and explore outside your domain. Keep your brain cells active. Act upon the knowledge you've gathered and do more of the things that would make your days bustle with activity and liveliness. If you are not feeling full of energy, it's the result of what you do or fail to do. Set goals and make them happen. There is deep satisfaction from a mission accomplished. Watch your diet. Eat healthy food. Don't overindulge. Writing is therapeutic. Ask yourself questions and find out what it takes to make you feel alive? What excites you? What topic of conversations motivates you? What is it that you've been day dreaming about most of the time? Take a pen and paper and write them down. Most times when there is tension in the body and mind, you will feel overwhelmed. Make it a habit to relax and meditate and reach a deep and calm state of mind. The simplest is to breathe deeply. "Don't ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do It." - Howard Thurman Your Response or CommentWhat do you think? Return from alive page to about personal growth homepage. |
